CHICAGO — A contracted bus driver was arrested for driving under the influence by Illinois State Police Thursday night after troopers noticed he was driving the Pittsburgh Pirates' team bus erratically following a loss to the Chicago Cubs.Illinois State Police told WGN that troopers were conducting a special event escort in Chicago when during the escort, 61-year-old Ronald E. Funderburke was seen not following the escort and travelling away from escorting troopers.Troopers said they saw more erratic driving and stopped the bus on the right shoulder of I-94 northbound near Dempster Street. Male in hospital after CTA Red Line shooting near Cermak-Chinatown stop

CHICAGO — A man is in the hospital after a shooting happened aboard a CTA Red Line train near the Cermak station in Chinatown Saturday afternoon.According to the Chicago Police Department, a 21-year-old male victim was on a CTA train in the 100 block of West Cermak Road around 3:45 p.m. when he was approached by an offender, who pulled out a handgun and shot him in the calf.The 21-year-old man was taken from the scene to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he is reported as being in good condition. Body pulled from Chicago River near Salt Shed ID’d "As soon as I found out he had a gun, I just gave my son to my man and we ran," said Nyla Brackett, who said she witnessed the shooting. "It was so scary because I was right there. Infant abducted by gang member found in Los Angeles

Both an infant and the gang member who allegedly abducted him from the West Hills area were located on Saturday night.The suspect was identified as Adonis Childress, 30, and the baby was identified as Jeremiah Montgomery, 11 months old, by the Los Angeles Police Department.No further details surrounding their discovery were released.Childress and the baby’s mother are in a dating relationship, authorities said. A verbal argument broke out around 8 a.m. between the couple before turning physical.The victim said Childress choked her and punched her several times in the face, causing multiple nose fractures before she lost consciousness.Around 10 a.m., Childress dropped the victim off at a hospital and drove away with her 11-month-old baby and her cell phone inside, police said.
