MADRID (AP) — The EuroLeague issued suspensions of up to five games for four players involved in a brawl between Real Madrid and Partizan Belgrade that forced a playoff game to be called off.A five-game ban was given to Guershon Yabusele on Friday, a day after the Madrid forward took a leading role in the melee on his home court. Police: Teacher grazed when gun discharges in classroom

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee teacher was grazed when a gun discharged in a high school classroom Friday, but no other injuries were reported, police said.It appears the gun was in a student’s backpack when it discharged in a classroom at West High School and the teacher was grazed either by the bullet or bullet fragment, Knoxville Police said in a tweet. “The student is in custody and the gun is accounted for,” police said.More information wasn’t immediately released.West High was placed on lockdown before students were dismissed for the day at 12:30 p.m., Knox County Schools told news outlets. MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico’s economy grew by 1.1% in the first quarter of 2023, bringing growth to an annualized rate of 3.8% compared to the same period of 2022, Mexico’s National Statistics Institute said Friday.The institute said growth was spurred by an expansion in industry and services, which offset a 3.2% drop in agriculture and mining.It marked the sixth consecutive quarter of growth since the coronavirus pandemic, during which Mexico suffered a severe drop in output.Mexico’s economy has recovered from the pandemic, but the effects of high domestic interest rates and stubborn inflation have acted as a drag on growth.
