FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KDVR) — Training at altitude helped the Denver Nuggets become NBA champions last season. Now, the rest of the league is taking notice.The Philadelphia 76ers announced the team will be heading to training camp at Moby Arena on the Colorado State University campus in early October. Sean Payton looks back on Week 1 loss to Raiders This will be the first training camp under head coach Nick Nurse.Despite having the reigning MVP, Joel Embiid, Philadelphia finished the 2022-23 season in third place in the Eastern Conference. The 76ers lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Boston Celtics.The training camp runs from Oct. 3-6. It is expected to be closed to the public. 

Florida public school teacher who led assembly that singled out Black students is resigning

(CNN) — A Flagler County Public Schools teacher who led an assembly last month that singled out Black fourth- and fifth-grade students at a Florida elementary school, telling them to improve their school performance, has resigned, according to a school district spokesperson.Anthony Hines submitted his resignation letter last week, according to spokesperson Jason Wheeler, who shared the letter with CNN on Monday.“I appreciate the opportunity to work in Flagler County Schools,” Hines said in the letter to superintendent LaShakia Moore.The resignation came one day after Bunnell Elementary School Principal Donell Evensen informed Moore that she was resigning.Hines said he didn’t think through the nature of the assembly, which was supposed to set goals and incentivize the children.“I’m devastated,” Hines, who is African American, told CNN on Monday. “I’ve had a hard time. LAS VEGAS, Nevada (KVVU) — A veteran Las Vegas-based flight attendant had a trip to remember when she got to fly alongside a rookie flight attendant who just so happened to be her granddaughter.According to Southwest Airlines, Cynthia Heck has been a Las Vegas-based flight attendant for 19 years. Biden inches toward decision on long-range missiles as Ukraine ups pressure

The Biden administration is in active conversations about whether to send long-range missiles to Ukraine amid an intense campaign for the U.S. to transfer the weapon, according to two U.S. officials and a person close to the Ukrainian government.It’s unclear if a decision memo has reached President Joe Biden’s desk. The officials said a final call would be made with Ukraine’s input, but Washington and Kyiv aren’t engaged in discussions about an announcement or a rollout of Army Tactical Missile Systems.Ukraine is pushing the U.S. to greenlight the delivery of ATACMS by next week’s U.N. Carjacking suspect arrested after crashing outside Manchester, NH Police Department

A man accused in connection with a carjacking in Nashua, New Hampshire was arrested Monday after police said he crashed an allegedly stolen van outside the Manchester Police Department. Nashua police said they first responded to a reported carjacking on Temple Street after a suspect “reportedly pointed a gun at the occupant in the vehicle, then took the vehicle and left the area.”Around 1:40 p.m., the Manchester Police Department said its officers spotted the van and activated their lights and sirens to stop it. Whistleblower claims he repeatedly warned Brockton officials about school district’s financial situation

Christopher Correia has worked for 22 years as the Brockton Public Schools’ assistant financial officer. As word got out that the district overspent its 2023 budget by $14 million, though, Correia was put on paid leave. Now, attorney Timothy Burke has said he plans to file a whistleblower lawsuit against the city of Brockton and its school committee on Correia’s behalf, claiming Correia sounded alarms about the district’s overspending for months.“He’s been cast in the light that, somehow, he didn’t do his job when it’s just the exact opposite,” Burke said. “The only one doing their job and who the public should be commending is Chris Correia.” Burke recently provided nearly 20 of Correia’s emails dating back as far as July of 2022 about issues with the public school budget. One email on July 21, 2022 explains in part, “We cannot continue to enter into contracts that we haven’t accounted for in the current budget.”“If we don’t get a handle on this transportation budget...
