All of the rain from the past few days left South Florida soaked and it has demonstrated to be difficult for residents to get around the flood waters, but as Monday proved to be drenched in inconveniences, this washout is expected to continue.Live video footage showed standing water in downtown Miami on Biscayne Boulevard near Northeast 11th Street, early Tuesday morning. Roads were still wet from Monday night but weather forecasts showed scattered showers and heavy downpours all through South Florida.Monday experienced heavy rains and flooding which sent cars floating down Biscayne Boulevard. Former teacher arrested for fracturing students arm after breaking up fight in NW Miami-Dade school

A former South Florida teacher was arrested for injuring a student after attempting to break up a fight in a Northwest Miami-Dade school.On Tuesday morning, 30-year-old Joel Insilo appeared in bond court where a judge found probable cause for a misdemeanor of culpable negligence. He was originally charged with felony child abuse after trying to break up a playfight at Kipp Miami’s North Campus on Monday.“He grabs the victim by the arm, tosses him and the victim ends up fracturing his arm,” said an attorney in the bond court.According to the arrest report, Insilo was trying to stop a 12-year-old from horsing around with other students when the injury happened. The boy was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with a fractured left arm.The former teacher was ordered to stay away from the student, according to a spokesperson for the school. BSO arrest 18-year-old suspect accused of killing 2 people in Pompano Beach shooting; family of victims speak out

A gunman has been caught and cuffed after two people were killed in Pompano Beach. The violent shooting was all caught on surveillance video. According to Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony, around 60 rounds were fired at the scene. The Broward Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday morning that 18-year-old Damian Wastene Charmant had been arrested for this shooting.He faces two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.The incident happened in February when a car drove by a convenience store in Pompano Beach and shot at the crowd. Charmant was 17 years old at the time of the shooting. Five people were shot and two were killed. One of the victim’s that was killed, Delana James, was pregnant. Man arrested after setting Miami home ablaze

One man has been arrested after, police said, he set a mattress on fire in his Miami home and caused a massive blaze. Nelson Granado was charged with first-degree arson and attempted murder on Tuesday.According to a police report, his wife and son believed he started the fire to try to kill them. They said he has been threatening to kill them for the past several months. Granado denied setting the house on fire in a statement he made to the police.No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.

BRUSSELS — Belgian MEP Marc Tarabella will be moved from jail to house arrest after being detained for over two months pending trial as part of a probe into an alleged cash-for-influence corruption scheme dubbed Qatargate.“We’ve just learned with relief of the imminent liberation of Marc Tarabella,” a member of the Socialist MEP’s close circle wrote to POLITICO. For the fourth time, Italian judges on Tuesday put off a decision on whether to extradite MEP Andrea Cozzolino to Belgium, his lawyers confirmed to POLITICO. Cozzolino is a key suspect in the European Parliament’s alleged corruption scandal, known as Qatargate.Once again, the court in Naples called on Belgian prosecutors to send evidence on the state of prisons and provide more details on the arrest warrant they issued in February. Germany can’t fulfill NATO obligations, says army chief in leaked memo

Police: Man arrested in connection with bank robbery in Northbridge

A man was arrested Tuesday in a connection with a robbery at Santander Bank on Providence Road in Northbridge Tuesday morning, according to police. Officers responded to a 911 call from a Santander Bank customer around 9 a.m. The caller told dispatch the bank had just been robbed and the masked suspect took off on foot. Police say the caller provided a detailed description of the suspect and their direction of travel. Within minutes, Chief Timothy Labrie located the suspect, later identified as Todd Mitchell, in front of Shaw’s Supermarket. Mitchell was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Northbridge Police Department. He is charged with unarmed robbery. Police found the clothing, gloves, and mask Mitchell allegedly used during the robbery in a nearby dumpster, the department said. They also seized $1,980.00 in cash.

The Jonas Brothers are going back to back at Yankee Stadium.The singing siblings from Wyckoff, N.J., will perform a second concert at the stadium in the Bronx this August, they announced Tuesday.The new show will take place on Aug. 13, a day after their first concert on Aug. 12.“New York!!
