(KRON) -- A woman was reported missing by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.Dollie Ann Gilmore was last seen at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of Richmond Parkway and San Pablo Avenue in San Pablo. Mother, daughter missing since September, last seen in San Pablo Gilmore was described as an African-American woman in her early 70s who stands 5-foot-8 and weighs approximately 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink coat and gray pants. Gilmore is considered at-risk due to dementia and "other medical complications," the sheriff's office said. She is believed to be somewhere in this area. Anyone who sees Gilmore or might know where she is is asked to call (925) 646-2441.

Santa pays an early visit to kids at Inova Loudoun Hospital

Children and families at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia, got a special visit from Santa to brighten their holiday spirits with some early Christmas gifts on Thursday afternoon.Santa arrived in style, escorted by deputies on motorcycles from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.“We collect toys from across all our stations,” explained Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman.Chapman told WTOP they do this every year, in partnership with the Inova hospital system and Cole’s Closet, a local organization that helps them collect toys to distribute to kids in the pediatric wing during the holidays.Cole’s Closet donates items to hospitals each year to help children have a more comfortable hospital stay. A recent ranking of the top Canadian research universities saw Queen’s University fall from the top 15. The ranking pulls data from 2022, and is based on the overall sponsored research income of an institution – coming from grants, contracts or contributions from any external source. Given the university closes for the holidays as of Friday, a spokesperson said they would be unable to comment in time for publication. Queen’s is still listed as a member of the U15 Canada Association, but it’s unclear if they may be excluded from that group in future as their research income takes them just outside the top 15 country wide.
