Intoxicated woman found in NHL star’s hotel room required transport to hospital, police report says A woman was found so intoxicated in Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin’s hotel room Saturday that a team doctor called for an ambulance to take her to a hospital, according to a Seattle Police Department report obtained Thursday by The Denver Post.Nichushkin did not play that night in Game 3 of the Avalanche’s first-round playoff series against the Kraken — and hasn’t appeared with the team since then. When contacted by The Denver Post late Thursday afternoon, a team spokesman declined to comment on whether or not Nichuskin’s absence is connected to the incident but did confirm he is currently not with the team.Team employees found the woman when they went to check on Nichushkin in his room at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Seattle where the Avs were staying, according to the incident report. SF home explosion being investigated, one hospitalized with minor injuries SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- One person was rescued and treated for minor injuries after an explosion at a residential property in San Francisco Friday morning, the San Francisco Fire Department tweeted. Authorities say the explosion was possibly related to a propane home appliance. Arrest made in fatal shooting near Westfield Mall (KRON) -- Police are investigating a shooting on Market Street in San Francisco that left one dead on Thursday evening, San Francisco police officials confirmed. The incident happened just after 6:30 p.m. Officers responded to reports of the shooting in front of a business on the 800 block of Market Street near the Westfield Mall. At the scene, police said they found a 24-year-old woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries where she later died. Antioch man arrested Thursday for 5th time this year Police worked through the night on the investigation. Officers said they found that a theft had occurred during the incident and identified 33-year-old Michael Earl-Wayne Anthony as the prime suspect. Mexico’s economy grew 1.1% in 1st quarter, 3.8% year on year MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico’s economy grew by 1.1% in the first quarter of 2023, bringing growth to an annualized rate of 3.8% compared to the same period of 2022, Mexico’s National Statistics Institute said Friday.The institute said growth was spurred by an expansion in industry and services, which offset a 3.2% drop in agriculture and mining.It marked the sixth consecutive quarter of growth since the coronavirus pandemic, during which Mexico suffered a severe drop in output.Mexico’s economy has recovered from the pandemic, but the effects of high domestic interest rates and stubborn inflation have acted as a drag on growth.
