After police chase crash, Denver intersection to get safety upgrades DENVER (KDVR) — Denver said it plans improvements next year at an intersection neighbors say is prone to safety problems, like when a homicide suspect crashed into someone's yard during a police chase.At West 13th Avenue and Perry Street, speeding cars and hit-and-run crashes happen way too often, according to neighbors, who say the street can seem more like a drag strip. Photos: Peacock rescued from Lakewood yard DENVER (KDVR) -- Police say they have captured a feathered figure spotted on rooftops in a Lakewood neighborhood on Friday.A peacock was captured in the Copper Oaks neighborhood and transported to the Foothills Animal Shelter before snowflakes began to fly. Lakewood Animal Control Officers caught the peacock with a large net and safely transferred the bird into a cage of the Animal Control vehicle. $50K reward offered for Horsetooth ‘suspicious’ death classified as homicide The peacock is now safely in the care of the Foothills Animal Shelter, where he (it's a male!) has been listed among the shelter's lost and found animals. Apple unveils its fastest iMac and MacBook Pro models yet (CNN) — Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup and colorful iMac computers just got even faster.At an event livestreamed on Monday night, the company introduced its next-generation family of custom-made processors – the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Pro – to its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops. It is also adding M3 chips to its 24-inch iMac line.The 14-inch MacBook starts at $1599; the 16-inch laptop will start at $2499. Fire extinguished at Borrego Springs country club BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. -- Firefighters early Monday were battling a fire at De Anza Country Club in Borrego Springs.By the time crews arrived at the scene, about three-fourths of the building was involved with heavy flames, Cal Fire San Diego said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.No injuries were reported, and flames have been completely extinguished as of 4:33 p.m., according to authorities. "The main building was destroyed, fortunately the crews were able to stop the fire spread and save the Pro Shop," Cal Fire San Diego said.
