While sitting down with  reporters following the historic summit, Trump said he explained to Kim that instead of testing ballistic missiles, the poverty-stricken nation “could have the best hotels in the world.”

“Instead of doing that, you could have the best hotels in the world right there,” Trump said he told Kim. “Think of it from a real estate perspective.”

Trump’s remarks came as he completed his trip to Singapore, where he participated in a historic meeting with Kim and signed an agreement committing the U.S. to unspecified “security guarantees” in exchange for the “eventual denuclearization” of the Korean peninsula.

The president also claimed that he plans to invite Kim to Washington for future peace talks, while stating that they would meet again “many times.”

Before his departure for Singapore on Saturday, Trump talked about North Korea’s potential to be a “great” nation. However his comments on Tuesday showed us that the former real estate mogul has a distorted focus when it comes to top priorities.

“You have South Korea, you have China and they own the land in the middle. How bad is that, right?” he added. “It’s great.”
