Former CIA Director John Brennan ripped into President Trump in a scathing tweet this past Sunday after he attacked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, assuring U.S. allies that Trump is only a “temporary aberration.”

“Your wrong-headed protectionist policies & antics are damaging our global standing as well as our national interests. Your worldview does not represent American ideals,” Brennan tweeted. “To allies & friends: Be patient, Mr. Trump is a temporary aberration. The America you once knew will return.”

Brennan has been a fierce critic of Trump since he first took office back in 2016, he recently suggested that the president’s “kakistocracy is collapsing.”

Trump went after Trudeau in a tirade of tweets after the G-7 summit on Saturday, calling him “dishonest and weak.”

“Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!” Trump wrote.
