President Trump admitted this Tuesday that he “absolutely” plans to invite North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to the White House.
The president later claimed that Kim had already accepted his invitation, but it would have to take place “at the appropriate time, a little bit further down the road.”
Trump also explained to reporters that he will pay a visit to Pyongyang “at a certain time.”
“That will be a day that I very much look forward to at the appropriate time,” the president said.
Trump’s remarks followed after he met with Kim in Singapore for the first in-person talks between a sitting U.S. president and North Korean leader in history.
Questioned at the meeting whether he would invite Kim to the White House for additional talks, Trump responded: “Absolutely, I will.”
Trump praised Kim after the summit, calling him “a very worthy, very smart negotiator” and saying that he planned to meet with the North Korean leader “many times.”
Trump’s naivety drew criticisms from actor Jim Carrey who blasted Trump with a scathing work of art spoofing the controversial leaders:

And this isn’t the first time:
Let’s Make A Deal: You’ll be a real world leader. I’ll sway the midterm elections. And together we will save the world from the bloodthirsty Canadians. pic.twitter.com/kHa1w3ye03

Carrey has been pretty critical of Trump in the past. Here’s another look:
Congratulations to the Washington Capitals on their Stanley Cup victory! There’s only one thing that would have made the final better. An appearance by the *ahem* “President". He’s totally pucked in the head. ;^P pic.twitter.com/GgrrTGar5F
