SALEM, Mo. -- Investigators found human remains during a search of private property near Salem, Missouri. The investigation into the find appears to be in the early stages.Crawford County Sheriffs were called to the small community of Cook Station Tuesday evening. The area is about a two-hour drive southwest of St. Louis. A few items of suspicious clothing were found on private property along Mound Ridge Road. A search warrant was granted and investigators found skeletal remains with the clothing Wednesday morning.The search area is large and in a very remote location. ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - A third teenage boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of a Lake St. Louis girl.Lydia Elking died on Saturday, Feb. 18. She was 17.According to Lt. Thomas Wilkison, a spokesman for the St. Charles Police Department, officers were called to St. Joseph’s Hospital just before 8:50 p.m. that evening.Two teenagers, Elking and a 17-year-old boy, arrived at the hospital after being shot at, Wilkison said. Elking suffered a gunshot wound to her chest, and the boy drove her to the hospital to report the shooting. ST. LOUIS - A magnet school for gifted children in south St. Louis gets a new name.It used to be "Kennard Classical Junior Academy" named for Confederate Army Lieutenant Samuel Kennard. The school board chose to rename the school as "Betty Wheeler Classical Junior Academy" for the late educator Betty Wheeler.
