Sunbeam Properties & Development and Miramar Park of Commerce sponsored the “Hangin’ with 5-0” summer camp where Miramar Police joined together for a beach cleanup in Hollywood North Park Beach.The summer camp was free for students ages 9-14 where, 25 campers were selected to participate by their school’s resource officer and guidance counselors, Tuesday.“The ocean is full of trash and garbage, and then animals choke on it,” said Betsy Petit, a camper. “Like sea turtles, they think it’s like, plastic bags, they think it’s like jellyfish or something, so they start eating it, and then they like, choke on it and die.”“Sunbeam got involved with the Hangin’ with 5-0 program about 14 years ago, the program was in need of funding, and Sunbeam stepped up to the plate to make sure that the funding was in place to keep the program going,” said Ryan Goggins, Vice President for Sunbeam Properties & Developmen...State House evacuated due to electrical fire in basement

Staff and lawmakers were evacuated from the Massachusetts State House Tuesday after a fire was discovered in a transformer room, according to officials.Massachusetts State Police said the building was evacuated and nearly all surrounding streets on Beacon Hill were closed as crews responded to what appeared to be an electrical fire that broke out around 2:15 p.m. in a sub-basement at the capitol building.Smoke was largely not visible outside the State House. Inside, though, state police spokesperson David Procopio said there were smoky conditions in parts of the building. Emergency crews responded in Taunton Tuesday after a cement truck rolled over at a construction site. The incident happened Tuesday morning near Jefferson Street. SKY7-HD was later over the scene, showing the truck resting on its side. Items from the iconic Boston bar, “The Pour House,” are scheduled to be sold on Wednesday as part of an online-only auction. The auction will offer almost 200 items including many signs, posters and decorative items. The Pour House had been open in the Back Bay on Boylston Street for more than three decades before it announced its closure on social media back in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the years, many famous faces made a stop at the treasured landmark. Among visitors, Rihanna made an appearance in October of 2019 and took pictures with fans and employees. “Every Bostonian has at least one fond memory from the Pour House,” said Michael Saperstein of auction firm Paul E. An undercover New Bedford Police Detective was shot in the face while sitting in his car in the city’s Goulart Square neighborhood on its south end, but was remarkably able to drive himself to the hospital.Det.
