Russia has added the spokesman of U.S. tech giant Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, to a wanted list, according to an online database maintained by the country’s interior ministry.Russian state agency Tass and independent news outlet Mediazona first reported on Andy Stone’s inclusion on the list on Sunday, weeks after Russian authorities in October classified Meta as a “terrorist and extremist” organization, opening the way for possible criminal proceedings against Russian residents using its platforms. The interior ministry’s database does not give details of the case against Stone, stating only that he is wanted on criminal charges. According to Mediazona, an independent news website that covers Russia’s opposition and prison system, Stone was put on the wanted list in February 2022, but authorities made no related statements at the time and no news media reported on the matter until this week. In March this year, Russia’s federal Investigative Committee opened ...Is Illinois the most expensive state to keep your home warm this winter?

(NEXSTAR) – A holiday gift is coming early this year. The average winter heating bill is expected to drop, according to projections by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). After a large spike in heating prices (and basically everything else) last year, Americans are getting some relief from rising costs. The EIA attributes the estimated 20% drop in winter heating prices to a large supply of natural gas and expected mild winter temperatures, among other factors. But even with drops across the board, residents of many states are still expected to fork over more than $100 a month to keep their homes toasty. Personal finance site MoneyGeek analyzed the EIA data to determine which states are likely to see the highest monthly heating bill come winter. It’s the first El Niño winter in 5 years. What will be different? Illinois residents are the unlucky winners who land at the top of the list. The average monthly natural gas bill this winter is expected to be $133. Here's how they stack up financially

(NEXSTAR) -- Millennials are often stereotyped as lazy, entitled, and less wealthy than baby boomers. But the younger generation is not uniformly worse off, a new study claims. They are, however, facing a widening wealth gap. "The wealthiest millennials now have more than ever, while the poor are left further behind," said the study's lead author Rob Gruijters, an associate professor of education and international development at England's University of Cambridge. Here’s the average net worth of Americans by age Millennials in their mid-30s are more likely to work low-paying service jobs and live with their parents, researchers found, but those with affluent middle-class lifestyles often have more wealth than boomers did at the same age.The study, published in the American Journal of Sociology in September 2023, examined the work and family life trajectories of more than 6,000 boomers and 6,000 millennials in the U.S. It compared how these life decisions impacted thei...Do you actually need to let your car warm up in winter?

(NEXSTAR) — The cold winter days are now at our doorsteps (though many of us may experience a warmer winter this year), which also means getting into a cold car if you want to go anywhere. Maybe you sit in the car, shivering as you wait for the heat to kick in. Or maybe you’re lucky enough to have a car with remote start, so it’s already warm and running by the time you get in. Either way, you probably don’t have to let your car warm up at all. Decades ago, when cars relied on carburetors, you would need to let your car warm up in order for it to work properly, The Washington Post explained in a 2014 article. If you didn’t, your car could stall. Don’t overlook this button in your car That changed in the 1980s and 90s as car makers started using electronic fuel injections instead of carburetors. The new technology uses sensors that don’t need to be warmed up to supply fuel to the engine, according to industry experts.Drivers were also once advised to let their ...Some Texans switch industries, filling teacher gaps
