(KTXL) — A group of demonstrators in favor of Medicare for all Californians pressed Governor Gavin Newsom on a campaign promise as he spoke briefly at the California Democratic Convention Saturday.After an introduction from his wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Gov. Newsom took the stage on the second full day of his party's state convention in Los Angeles for a roughly five-minute speech during which he struck out at Republican leaders in red states.However, as the initial applause quieted, some in the crowd held up banners saying "Love it! OAKLAND — A 36-year-old man was fatally shot on Saturday morning while pumping gas at a Valero station in the Millsmont neighborhood, authorities said.The killing, which appeared to be targeted, happened about 11:20 a.m. at 5910 MacArthur Blvd, near the intersection of Seminary Avenue near Mills College.Police said the victim, who has not been named, had been sitting in a car at the pump for several minutes before someone walked up to the vehicle and begin shooting.Police did not announce a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.The killing is the 41th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. (KRON) -- Two women were arrested in connection to a theft at a Sunglasses Hut last week, the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) announced Saturday. On May 18, six women and one man allegedly stole $50,000 worth of merchandise from the store at 1061 Santa Rosa Plaza.The group ran away from the shopping mall in two separate vehicles, but one of those cars later crashed and was towed by police, according to SRPD. All seven of the suspects were still able to escape despite the crash.
