Feeling blue? Help may be just around the corner.CVS is adding mental health treatment to its Minute Clinics at a half-dozen Southern California drugstores.The therapy is available at CVS outlets in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Santa Clarita and Thousand Oaks."We continue to see a need for accessible mental health care across the country," Sheryl Burke, senior vice president of corporate social responsibility, said in a recent statement.Adding counseling and therapy to Minute Clinics makes treatment more convenient and accessible for many people.It's also recognition by a major healthcare player that mental health is just as important as physical well-being.CVS says about 80% of its patients report a decline in depression symptoms after meeting with a therapist.Sometimes just verbalizing feelings, or simply being heard, can help a stressed or anxious person feel better.Therapists and counselors working with CVS will accept most major health plans.Also check ...Universal Studios Hollywood to host Pride event in June

Carjacking Incident Ends in Fatal Pedestrian-Auto Collision Near Potrero AvenueSAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 25, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian crash on 16th Street involving a stolen vehicle suspect ends in a fatal crash. Officers responded to reports of carjacking around 10:00 a.m. in the area of Folsom and Mabini Streets. Afterward, the suspect led the officers in pursuit after being spotted near Kansas and 25th Streets. Ultimately, the pursuit came to a stop after the stolen vehicle crashed into a bus stop at 16th Avenue and Potrero Avenue. Responding emergency personnel said at least five people sustained serious injuries from the incident. Tragically, it was confirmed that one of the patients succumbed to their injuries a short while after. SAN JOSE — A San Jose couple was arraigned earlier this month in connection to a “med spa” business operated out of their East San Jose home in which they performed injections of Botox and fillers without a license, the Santa Clara County Office of the District Attorney said.Monica Canales, 45, and James Carey, 48, were arraigned May 9; the couple faces a total of 13 felony charges for the unlicensed practice of medicine for performing Botox injections, lip fillers and other beauty treatments from their home between August 2020 and September 2021, according to court documents.Deputy District Attorney Ann Huntley told Bay Area News Group that no injuries were reported by any of the six victims attached to the court case.“Everybody is really damn lucky that nothing worse … occurred,” Huntley said. “When you go to someone that’s not licensed and not trained, you have no idea what’s being injected into you.”Canales also faces a felony char...Latest news
