CHICAGO -- The Chicago Police Department are investigating several armed robberies they believe to be connected.The Chicago Police Department issued an alert to residents on Friday warning them to be vigilant after a pattern armed robberies on the city's Northwest Side that reportedly occurred on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon around 1 p.m.In each incident, at least two or three males estimated to be between the ages of 15 and 25-years-old, got out of their car and demanded the victims property. They also were wearing ski masks, dark clothing, and armed with handguns. According to the CPD, the suspects were driving a 2018 white Kia sedan. (The Hill) – Hospitals and clinics in five states are facing disruptions due to a cyberattack Thursday that forced some emergency rooms to close.The attack began at facilities operated by Prospect Medical Holdings. Authorities are searching for the driver of a box truck that broke into a golf course and stole hundreds of gallons of fuel in Westlake Village.The break-in happened around 10 p.m. on July 26, at Westlake Golf Course, located at 4812 Lakeview Canyon Rd.The driver of a large box truck apparently cut the lock at the golf course's maintenance yard and then stole 354 gallons of diesel fuel. A former Ojai teacher has been charged with 23 counts of sex assault upon a minor, officials announced Friday.Paul Herder, 65, of Pahoa, Hawaii, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include lewd act on a child, luring, penetration by a foreign object, oral copulation of a person under 18, unlawful sex and using a minor for sex acts.The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office also alleges aggravating circumstances that Herder took advantage of a position of trust as a teacher at Oak Grove School to commit the sexual assaults.Detectives began investigating Herder earlier this year after learning of the allegations against him.He is believed to have had an unlawful relationship and allegedly engaged in numerous sexual acts with a student between 2013 to 2017 when he worked as a teacher at the school.Detectives traced Herder to Hawaii in June.
